Doll face

Doll Face was a futuristic editorial collaboration created with a professional photographer. The project explored identity, distortion and artificial beauty through fashion photography and graphic overlays. I wanted the final imagery to feel sleek, modern and slightly synthetic, combining beauty makeup with a more digitally influenced visual style.

Design Approach

I developed the concept by researching contemporary editorial photography and futuristic beauty campaigns. I became interested in how typography, framing and image overlays could distort the perception of beauty whilst still remaining visually elegant. My goal was to blur the line between makeup artistry, photography and graphic design, creating imagery that felt commercially fashionable but still experimental and concept driven.

Application Approach

For the makeup application, I focused on clean skin work, controlled colour placement and graphic eye detailing to support the futuristic aesthetic. I intentionally kept the makeup refined and minimal so the overlays and photographic treatment could become part of the storytelling. I also worked closely with the composition and lighting of the shoot to ensure the makeup integrated naturally with the final visual treatment.
